Clemson Cleaners was formed as One Hour Martinizing in 1969. After several changes in ownership Wayman Henry purchased Clemson Cleaners in 1996. Mr. Henry owned dry cleaners in Greenville, SC before leaving the business world to become an Episcopal priest. Upon retiring from the Church, Mr. Henry decided to return the business world in order to minister to his employees and customers instead of his congregation. Mr. Henry’s son Wright Henry joined the business in 2002 after receiving a BS in Biology from the College of Charleston and an MBA from Clemson University.
In May 2015 Clemson Cleaners moved from its long time home in Clemson Center on Anderson Boulevard to the old Huddle House building on Tiger Boulevard. The renovation was performed in just 45 days and won Outstanding Reconstruction by American Drycleaner magazine.
